The first-time visit lasts about 120 minutes. Upon arrival, please proceed to REGISTRATION to complete all necessary formalities. A medical receptionist will lead you to the patient room, where you will wait for the medical team to arrive.
The consultation will begin with collecting your medical history. You will be asked for information about the pregnancy and birth, similar health problems in the family, whether and how the patient was previously treated, what additional illnesses or symptoms the patient has/had, and what led you to seek a consultation. During this medical interview, we will also ask whether the patient is under the care of other specialist doctors and whether they take any medication regularly (what and in what dosage). Based on the information obtained, a medical history will be established.
The second part of the patient’s health evaluation is a physical examination. Depending on the need, the doctor evaluates the patient’s gait, the position of their limbs (voluntary/forced), and the presence of any tremors or deformities in the joints or bones.
An orthopedic doctor may ask the patient to perform various movements (such as squats, bends etc.) to assess the active mobility of individual joints. In addition to that, passive mobility is also examined – this involves the doctor moving the patient’s limbs in different planes, whilst looking for any pathological resistance during this examination. Muscle strength is also evaluated during the orthopedic consultation.
Within 21 working days after the consultation, you will receive a password-protected report of the visit along with an Individual Treatment Plan prepared by our interdisciplinary team via email. The deadline may be extended if additional diagnostic tests or consultations are required.
After receiving the report of the visit and your individualized treatment plan, you will receive another email with a cost estimate (this may take about two weeks). Then, within 7-10 working days, the Paley European Institute team will contact you to find out if you have decided to proceed with the surgical procedure. If you decide to proceed, you will jointly schedule the next step in the whole process.
If you decide to proceed with the procedure at the indicated time, our Finance Department will contact you to make a 20% deposit. This is necessary to confirm the reservation of the surgery.
Once we receive confirmation from the bank that your deposit has been received, you will get an email from us confirming the payment.
